Law firm drops Adorno's name after suspension .

Hank Adorno's law firm has dropped his name from the letterhead.

Adorno & Yoss, which Adorno founded in 1986 with two other lawyers, announced Monday it was officially changing its name to Yoss LLP following Adorno's suspension by the Florida Supreme Court over the Miami fire-fee case.

``Although we continue to be supportive of co-founder Hank Adorno during this time, our priorities are client service and the day-to-day operation of the firm without interruption,'' managing partner George T. Yoss said in a statement.

Yoss, who has been with the firm since 1987, said the company cannot legally keep the name of a suspended or disbarred lawyer. Adorno officially resigned Sunday.

The stunning shake-up for one of Florida's most prominent law firms came after last week's unanimous ruling by Florida's top court. The decision upheld a lower-court ruling that cited ``reprehensible'' behavior by Adorno for collecting huge fees while excluding almost all Miami property owners from a $7 million settlement against the city over excessive fire fees.

Adorno & Yoss gave back $1.6 million in fees Adorno collected in the settlement, but kept about $400,000.

The partnership named A. Wayne Gill, to the firm's executive committee.

An attorney for Adorno, Bruce Rogow, declined to describe Adorno's role in the change but suggested the partner endorsed the switch.

Grounds for Divorce in Ohio - Sylkatis Law, LLC

A divorce in Ohio is filed when there is typically “fault” by one of the parties and party not at “fault” seeks to end the marriage. A court in Ohio may grant a divorce for the following reasons:
• Willful absence of the adverse party for one year
• Adultery
• Extreme cruelty
• Fraudulent contract
• Any gross neglect of duty
• Habitual drunkenness
• Imprisonment in a correctional institution at the time of filing the complaint
• Procurement of a divorce outside this state by the other party

Additionally, there are two “no-fault” basis for which a court may grant a divorce:
• When the parties have, without interruption for one year, lived separate and apart without cohabitation
• Incompatibility, unless denied by either party

However, whether or not the the court grants the divorce for “fault” or not, in Ohio the party not at “fault” will not get a bigger slice of the marital property.
